4.0 Kemoy

Kemoy had some very encouraging news for us this weekend. He earned straight A's and a 4.0 in his first term as a college student! We could not be more proud of his hard work or more excited for what God is doing in his life. Please continue to keep him in your prayers during Thanksgiving break (he will stay on campus) and then mid December he will be traveling to his host mom and dad's, David and Kate Ringger, for Christmas break. Tashi and I, Lord willing, plan to see him either out in Gridley or they may come to West Lafayette, we'll see. Praise God for the gifts He has given Kemoy and big up Kemoy for working hard and earning A's!

Twilight blinds its viewers...are your eyes open??

I feel strongly about the movement occurring in the last ten years with teenage vampire romance. It started with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and continues to grow with the Twilight sage and various branches. I believe it is evil. Certainly there is nothing edifying. Do Christians have the freedom to watch and read the twilight series? Probably. Paul is fairly clear that all things are lawful but not all things edify. Take that with a grain of salt. A lot of people view it as simply a love story and think its wonderful. But dig deeper. Why is it so wonderful? I beg to differ. I think its evil and I think its scary. And know, I don't watch or read it to support my view. I watched about five minutes one time when I was unfamiliar with it and the false gospel plot line jumped out at me and I felt burdened in my spirit and did a little research. Its the same feeling I had when I watched Avatar, and actually showed it to my kids at CCCD. I ended up shutting it off before the end. I should have watched it first before showing it to my kids, but it was so popular and had a clean rating so I saw no harm in showing it to my kids. But it too portrays a false gospel. We allow the enemy to advance his agenda, and rather than fighting against it, we are actually carrying his banner. Now that is the ultimate deceiver! If you disagree with me, I still love you. But I can't be quiet about this.

Lost newsletter and cry for help. My Dell PC needs 911...or 119

Normally our monthly newsletter would have been posted by now...my computer died. I think it can be revived but right now its in a non-responsive coma. The format and framework I always worked from is not accessible, hence the delay. If anyone knows how to fix PC's or has a friend who is a wiz, any help would be appreciated, here are some pics of the situation.

When I start-up the computer it fails to load windows. I have attempted start-up repair, that failed. I have tried to revert to a previous state (image recapture or some thing like that) etc. Starting in a safe mode didn't work, starting normally didn't work. As for symptoms, a month or so ago the computer one day started up very slowly. It has really been a flawless machine for the last three years. The battery still holds a 4-5 hour charge and worked great. It was just one day it hit a wall and would take 12-13 minutes just to boot all the way up. Then one day it just wouldn't even start. It responds to commands and mouse movement when I'm in the diagnosis (f12 during startup) mode. Its just something with memory or the hard drive. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
