Messenger of Joy

About a year ago I blogged about meeting some blind students with my friend, Sarah Klapak. That one day has turned into God's divine intervention into several lives as I have gotten to know quite a few of the staff and students at the Salvation Army School for the Blind.

Anyways, this fall the guitar Sarah gave Sanjay and Jade started falling apart. I had it repaired one time and it broke again. Rather than fighting a vicious cycle with it, I planned to email to friends the need to get a donated guitar. I talked to my teammate Erin about who she thought, and her reply was, "oh, I think we have one at home that never gets used." That's all the further I had to go. In January Roger Stoller's team carried down Erin's guitar, and yesterday I was able to deliver it to the boys. They had huge smiles as they open the case and felt the "new" guitar. Jade seemed most interested in the metronome that came with it and the little box under the neck that holds extra strings, a tuner and a capo (spl?). It blessed me to be a messenger of joy, and a huge thanks to Ryan and Erin Davis for their generosity!

 Jade was all grins...
Sanjay was all business!

To God be the Glory!
